Alone or in combination with other plants, succulents make spectacular container arrangements and in your garden. They are the new water-wise darlings of the plant world. Linda will talk about how to create beautiful living tapestries in containers. She will also discuss the different types of succulents, choosing containers, their location, and proper care for assembling a container garden to enhance your backyard. http://www.lindasucculents.com/
Master Gardener Plant Clinic: Come anytime between 11:30am – 1pm. FREE.
The Master Gardeners are available to answer your questions from general information to advice about specific problems. You may bring samples of your plants for better diagnosis. Use a Ziploc or similar bag to carry your sample. If you suspect insect damage, try to include some of the insects so they can be correctly identified.

Volunteers are the core of the Arboretum Society and give their time and energy so that the community can learn about and enjoy the beauty and bounty of plants and trees. We are currently in need of new helpers to continue the strong volunteer legacy of SMAS. Click here to check out the Volunteer page.ORCHIDS, in bloom or bud, are always available for sale at the Greenhouse. If you can grow a houseplant, you can grow an orchid! Many species are amazingly hardy and do not require as much care as some common houseplants. Don't be intimated by these beauties.

Our headquarters and most of our activities are focused around the historic Kohl Pump House area in Central Park, adjacent to downtown San Mateo.
